Resolved Question: Why does the GOP establishment insist on committing political suicide by forcing the Mormon on Republicans?

As the GOP nominee, the Mormon can only win Utah, Nevada, Idaho, and maybe Arizona in the Gerneral Election. Thats it. Why? The Southeastern States from NC to Texas take their Bible seriously. In the Book of Mormon, it calls black people "filthy" and the "seed of Cain". First of all, no "seed of Cain" could have survived Noah's flood. That means to most GOP Southerners, Mormonism is lying cult. Very few Republican Southern voters are going to vote for a Mormon. Even worse, blacks will be enraged that the Republican nominee gives millions to a cult that slanders their race and the blacks will show up at the polls for Obama even greater than in 2008. The entire South will be lost to the Democrats if the Mormon is the GOP nominee. Paul Ryan's "Kill Medicare and give Seniors a coupon plan" has already cost the GOP Florida this election cycle. Notice the low turnout in the Florida GOP Primary. Scott Walker has lost Wisconsin to the Democrats in the 2012 Election Cycle as well. Then there is the Midwest. Several of the Midwestern states have had past conflicts with Mormons. Missouri fought a war against Mormons. An Arkansas group trying to reach California in the 1800's were slaughtered by Mormons in Utah and the women and young girls were taken for breeding, etc. Furthermore, although being born in Michigan, the Mormon wrote an Op-Ed in the New York Times in 2008 telling Detroit to go F themselves, giving Michigan to the Democrats in 2012 if he is the nominee. If the Mormon can't win in the South, Florida, or the Midwest, exactly how do you think the GOP can win the 2012 Election? However, a Santorum/Gingrich ticket could win in the South, could win in the Midwest and.............possibly Pennsylvania and/or Ohio. This provides the best chance for the GOP to actually win with the current lackluster field that is being presented for GOP nomination. So that is why I ask "Why would the GOP give away the 2012 Election with the Mormon?"... Read More »
